- At most 16 points in total; each character spends its own.
- A perk with a gate needs that many points spent in perks of the same tree with a lower gate.
- A perk with a prerequisite needs at least 1 rank in it.
- Removing a rank is allowed only while every perk that keeps ranks still meets its gate and prerequisite.
