Blizzard blue post (Kaivax, Forever General Discussion): accounts suspected of selling or receiving illicit gold can get a temporary Economy Hold limiting Trade, Mail, Guild Banks and the Auction House. Holds lift automatically if the activity is found legitimate; confirmed RMT leads to account actions; a hold alone leaves no permanent strike. Normal play is unlikely to trigger one, false positives may occur while it is tuned, and Blizzard says the systems will go to all WoW versions if they work.
