Dalaran attunement (Horde): Horde players earn the Dalaran Sewer Key through a quest chain that starts with Magus Word

Confirmed Updated Oct 27, 2026

Fact

Horde players earn the Dalaran Sewer Key through a quest chain that starts with Magus Wordeen Voidglare in Tarren Mill (Wowhead, Oct 6). Step 1: Prison Break In (kill the four Forsaken traitors at the Lordamere Internment Camp for their Bloodstone pieces) and Key to the City (rewards the Grimy Key; guides place it in the Warden's Foot Locker at the camp). Step 2: Dalaran Patrols (kill 6 Dalaran Summoners plus Elemental Slaves at the Dalaran ruins; Wowhead's quest page says 8 Slaves, its news post says 12). Step 3: Blood in the Streets (take the Grimy Key to the Image of Archmage Modera at the sewer approach on the Lordamere Lake side of Dalaran; guides give about 8.8, 59.6 in Alterac Mountains, reached by swimming from Silverpine Forest). Step 4: Heart of Disruption, the dungeon quest from Modera: accepting it puts the Dalaran Sewer Key on the keyring; collect the Arcane Mote inside City of Dalaran (it drops from Shade of the Archmage) and turn in to Voidglare (choice of Battle Spaulders, Enchanted Sandals or Striking Staff). Step 5: Shrewd Negotiations (take the mote to Archmage Celindra in the city), which is what lets Horde walk the city. The chain quests are level 33-35; Heart of Disruption needs level 24. Keeper Bel'varil's Stone Tokens and Bracers of Binding are in Wowhead's list, but players report they are not required for the key. One guide says only one group member needs the key for the Horde entrance. Alliance players do An Alarming Request (Emissary Jacques, Southshore), then get the key and Heart of Disruption from Modera. Correction (2026-10-09): do not plan around Step 5. Blizzard's Josh Greenfield said full Horde access to the city 'isn't really intended' and that adjustments are likely. His posts are about city access and Kirin Tor reputation; they do not mention the key chain or the dungeon.
