Class design direction and post-launch tuning (TechRadar interview, Oct 10): The Forever team to TechRadar (published Oct 10; speakers not named): classes will not be

Reported Updated Oct 27, 2026

Fact

The Forever team to TechRadar (published Oct 10; speakers not named): classes will not be modernized; the team will 'err on the side of simpler classes, but with engaging depth', and 'some classes in the Classic era were too simple, so those have gained a few mechanics'. The complexity of the beta classes reflects the intended level. Class changes will be batched rather than released gradually; balance changes are expected often, weekly at first, during the first six months after the Nov 4 launch, with very few design changes after launch. Dual Specialization is available at level 40 for a cost and Blizzard has 'no plans to go past that'; re-speccing is cheap in the beta and becomes expensive at launch.
